From Where I Sit

April 30, 2018

Last night I made a ‘to-do’ list. I had every intention of writing it down, instead, I filed it in the safety of the back of my mind. While I hoped that it wouldn’t float away into dreamland, it was also reasonably likely that it would be crumpled and forgotten in the very back folds of my mind.

As I pressed the snooze button this morning, I had escaped the first thing on my to-do list. My ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude of late would normally be enough to settle my eyelids back into the slumber position. But, this morning I laid there running through excuses like counting sheep, only I wasn’t feeling dreamy and as I tried to slam that mental filing cabinet closed, I subconsciously jammed my finger in the process. This was annoying, but I felt a little chuffed with myself for defeating my lack lustre mojo, so up-and-at-‘em to tick off my morning workout.

So, #fromWhereIsit it is no coincidence that today is Monday. We all know that fresh starts, new beginnings or life refurbishments are only relevant if they start on a Monday, right?! This little ‘to-do’ list instigator is responsible for a self-imposed challenge to pump up my own motivation and improve my productivity with achieving stuff…in life…in general.

Writing is one of my passions. I enjoy crafting words into stories that evoke thought, connect souls, warm the cockles or simply turn the edges of someone’s mouth skywards. But sometimes I get a little lost in the crafting process and leave the words homeless, abandoned for lack of polish.

So, as Monday comes to a close, this is the last thing I have to tick off my ‘to-do’ list for today. To introduce my self-improvement challenge. For each day The Everyday Epiphany will literally occur #fromWhereIsit at any given moment for that day. It may be a snippet of insight or a culmination of wonder bundled into a jumble of sentences. It may well be a lot less polished than I like, but the point is to either figuratively or literally allow me to practice what I love, with a little accountability.

Technically, it all starts tomorrow but that just messes with the whole Monday start rule ;P, so #fromwhereisit today was mainly at my desk (although I did squeeze in a massage from a gorgeous friend) meeting a deadline (early – insert pat on the back here, lol) and dreaming I could make water from wine – c’mon, everyone knows water tastes better out of a wine glass!
